Story Details

It's that time of year again... 52 sleeps until the man in red comes to town and that means Adelaide's Carols by Candlelight at Elder Park is also just around the corner.

This year we're giving you the chance to play a very special part.

Bruce Raymond has been the musical director of carols for 15 years and he's on the hunt for Adelaide's hidden musical marvels.

"There's a group out there that's going to have the chance to sing in front of 40,000 peopleÂ… so what we want to do is find the best community choir and let them sing at carols by candlelight," says Bruce.

Each year Bruce is flooded by choirs wanting this gig so we've decided to give him a hand with Adelaide's choir idol. If your choir has 15 or more members then you are in with a chance. All you need do is send us a short dvd of your choir in action.

But there's one other requirementÂ…

"We'd like to have them sing a Christmas song and there are a lot to choose from, hundreds and maybe something a bit creative that would be good," says Bruce.

Finalists will then battle it out in a televised sing off on Today Tonight.

So community choirs get your entries in and be part of this great event.

Send your dvd to Today Tonight, Carols by Candlelight choir competition, locked bag 7, Hindmarsh SA 5007, don't forget to include your contact details.

Entries close November 17... and don't forget you'll have to be available to perform at this year's Carols by Candlelight which will be held at Elder Park on Sunday, December 19.
