Dear Graham,

I want to thank you, in your capacity as Executive Producer of Channel Seven's Today Tonight program for the magnificent support you have given to the concept and ultimate enactment of the Criminal Appeal Bill 2013.

As you know, this Bill introduces the first substantive reforms of criminal appeals in Australia for more than a century.

Many people are cynical of media today. However, your actions have been idealistic and also news worthy. You have demonstrated the best qualities that can sometimes exist in the media. Without the support of programs such as yours, it is most unlikely that the pressure would have existed upon the political process to deliver a just and reformatory outcome.

I write merely as a citizen. But I do wish to express my thanks to you and your colleagues. Please pass this note of praise onto the management of your station and to those who have the responsibility of upholding the best standards of the media in this country.

Yours sincerely,
