Lucy Polkinghorne, Reporter

Lucy Polkinghorne joined the team at the Seven Network as a reporter for Adelaide’s Today Tonight in May 2011.

Previously, Lucy worked as a broadcast and online journalist in New South Wales.

During her university days, Lucy worked on Seven’s Sunrise programme as a production assistant which cemented her ambition for a career in broadcast journalism.

After graduating with a Masters degree in Media Practice at the University of Sydney, Lucy began her career as digital producer at Sky News.

In 2010, Lucy moved to Tamworth in regional NSW, to pursue her passion for reporting, accepting a role as News Journalist at Prime Seven.

While attaining solid ‘on the road’ reporting experience, Lucy also filled in on the news desk as back-up News and Sport presenter.

During her time at Prime Seven, Lucy covered a number of local and national events and issues from drought to floods, the 2010 Federal Election as well as Local Government elections.

At the start of 2011, Lucy enthusiastically accepted the position of Current Affairs Reporter with Today Tonight Adelaide. She continues to enjoy working with, and learning from some of the very best in the field.

A keen sports person and former national surf boat champion, Lucy also volunteers as a life saver at the Glenelg SLSC.
