Paul Makin, Reporter

Paul Makin has been in the media for over fourty years starting off as a Cine-Cameraman. His foray into Journalism happened in the Seventies at Radio 5KA in Adelaide where he was the resident “Roving Reporter”. He then headed to Sydney where he hosted the highly rated “Nightwatch” program on Radio 2UE and was the first reporter to arrive at the Granville Rail Disaster in 1977.

Paul was one of the senior journalists on the top rated “Willesee at 7” program where he became an National media identity. After leaving Willesee Paul went on to host the game show “$50,000 Letterbox” while working in Melbourne radio. While at radio station 3UZ he found himself at Newport Rhode Island for Australia's successful tilt at the America Cup. “That was a highlight” says Paul “Standing on Bondys boat and seeing that winged keel come out of the water was a moment I will never forget” .

In recent times Paul has been behind the microphone at radio stations 2GB and 2UE in Sydney… that was until he agreed to return to Adelaide to a full time stint at Today Tonight. Hosting the program when Rosanna takes a break is a dream come true for this seasoned journalist. “I just love being back and getting stuck into the local stories that our viewers care about” says Paul... ”Adelaide is the best city in the world” .
