Story Details

Just four months ago, Port Lincoln schoolgirl Amerila Honan could barely string a sentence together when trying to read. Today it's her mum Narelle who happily can't find the words to express the amazing turnaround of her nine-year-old daughter, who was diagnosed with dyslexia.

"She's so excited," says Narelle. "She's unleashed herself. She's become this confident child excelling in everything she's putting her hand to."

Amelia's transformation, along with thousands of others around the world, has been achieved through the ground-breaking drug-free treatment known as the DORE Program.

It's now being hailed as a cure not just for dyslexia but other debilitating neurological conditions like ADD, ADHD, Dyspraxia and Asperger's sydrome.

Wynford Dore is the driving force behind the program he bankrolled and developed in the UK, in a desperate attempt to help his suicidal daughter's severe learning problems. He says his program has worked wonders for all ages.

"The results are very dramatic´┐Żlike nothing else on earth and, secondly the results last," says Wynford. "They are not just temporary and that's what makes it a remarkable process."

Wynford is in Australia to promote his new book and meet some of the many success stories here.

Dore's research centred on a small area of the brain known as the cerebellum, which, if under-developed, affects cognitive and motor skills.

The clinics analyse a person's condition using equipment first developed through NASA's space program to investigate temporary dyslexia of astronauts returning from space. One device studies posture and balance, the other, eye movement. The information is then used to develop a series of simple exercises, which stimulate the part of the brain that isn't functioning as it should.

The results have been phenomenal in almost 90 per cent of people who have been on the program, which costs about $4000 and usually takes 12 months to complete.

Wynford Dore says he's not in it for the money. He's out to convince governments, educators, and medical specialists that this is a proven way to go in overcoming chronic learning and behavioural disorders without using mind-bending drugs.
