Following your enquiry about the Princes Arcade building in Hindley Street, Council Officers conducted an onsite inspection of the building on 23 May 2021 accompanied by a representative of the property owner and the current tenant.

The outcome of the inspection revealed that a number of the concerns raised by the tenant were deemed valid and required maintenance works to be undertaken to rectify these matters. The owner’s representative agreed to address all of the matters relating fire safety maintenance within two weeks.

Council has now received verbal advice from the owner that the matters relating to fire safety maintenance have been complied with, and Council expects to receive written certification supporting this advice shortly.
