Who are the Murray Cods? These forgotten heroes of the 1924 Olympics are now claiming their rightful place in SA sporting history.
The Australian premiere of the Cods’ documentary, Paris or the Bush, will be held at the Murray Bridge Town Hall on Saturday, April 23 (the Anzac long weekend), at 7pm.
Murray Bridge will roll out the red carpet for this night of nights.
VIPs from around Australia will be flying in for the event, including Cods descendants and rowing experts.
There will be a WW1 guard of honour to greet the 300 guests and honour the Cods soldiers who fought in France and Gallipoli, one of whom lost his life.
This will be a black tie affair with all proceeds going to the Murray Bridge Rowing Club.
The documentary has been two years in the making and has been filmed in all capital cities of Australia as well as London, Paris and Dublin.
Tickets for the premiere are available from MB Regional Gallery on 8539 1420.
